Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudiu Joja in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Bratiloveanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ionel Babeș's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, George Curuțiu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Iurie Nediu hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atlético Timișoara's zone, Claudiu Joja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Bratiloveanu came out of the goal and Claudiu Joja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of BANAT VIOLA booed when Club Atlético Timișoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iurie Nediu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, BANAT VIOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Babeș came free, but George Curuțiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iustin Buligan struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. George Curuțiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Timișoara. The supporters of BANAT VIOLA booed when Club Atlético Timișoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iurie Nediu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Claudiu Joja's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Bratiloveanu was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. George Curuțiu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iustin Buligan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 35 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Aristide Ispirescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Timișoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iustin Buligan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 minutes of play, BANAT VIOLA's Dorel Fulga made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albert Bratiloveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there!

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aristide Ispirescu made a kick off. Iustin Buligan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Atlético Timișoara's Iustin Buligan got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dinu Corlățean kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in BANAT VIOLA's zone, Dinu Corlățean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Curuțiu came out of the goal and Dinu Corlățean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute Iustin Buligan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Curuțiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Bratiloveanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorel Fulga, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Iustin Buligan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Timișoara's supporters rose to their feet, but Iustin Buligan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Curuțiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute, Iustin Buligan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. George Curuțiu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Albert Bratiloveanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorel Fulga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Ispirescu in the 95th minute of play forced BANAT VIOLA's goalkeeper George Curuțiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
