When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Leontin Bungescu put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of George Curuțiu. After 31 played minutes BANAT VIOLA got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Covataru. RB Buzău's Leontin Bungescu got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to RB Buzău getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Iustin Belu hit a great ball. Gigel Lupea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorel Fulga in the 41st minute of the match. In the 45th minute Leontin Bungescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Curuțiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Viorel Nichitelea charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Claudiu Joja managed to get in a good position for a shot. BANAT VIOLA's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudiu Joja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Lupea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigel Lupea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Covataru in the 84th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in RB Buzău fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! If Traian Voina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorel Fulga's late challenge caught a RB Buzău's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorel Fulga helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to BANAT VIOLA getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Dorel Fulga hit a great ball. In the 96th minute Leontin Bungescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Curuțiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Traian Voina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The BANAT VIOLA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching RB Buzău's performance. The match ended with a win for RB Buzău.
