Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) Minerul Baita -MM-'s Cosmin Bobeica started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Minerul Baita -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Mandache to maneuver through the defense. Narcis Aursulesei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Vârlan having to interfere. Gică Aldulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Narcis Aursulesei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelian Vârlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Minerul Baita -MM- defense, Narcis Aursulesei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aurelian Vârlan. The Minerul Baita -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelian Vârlan should have stopped the shot. Nicolae Mandache charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolae Mandache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Vlad Nicolae ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aurelian Vârlan. Aurelian Vârlan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. After some careless play in the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- defense, Nicolae Mandache kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leontin Matei. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leontin Matei should have stopped the shot. Eduard Poenaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Aurelian Vârlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurelian Vârlan made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Vlad Nicolae sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the match, Cornel Mihai had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leontin Matei. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cornel Mihai was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 43rd minute, Vlad Nicolae left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vlad Nicolae got free with Aurelian Vârlan in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Vlad Nicolae made the kick off in the second half. Mihai Negara charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mihai Negara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Negara to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Cosmin Bobeica in the 53rd minute really tested Leontin Matei's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Panait Agrigoroaiei was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. Panait Agrigoroaiei kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosmin Bobeica in the 55th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Leontin Matei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nicolae Mandache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 62 minutes into the game, Cosmin Bobeica recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leontin Matei. Cosmin Bobeica showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-4. In the 72nd match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Aursulesei to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Eduard Poenaru. In the 79th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Poenaru to maneuver through the defense. Cornel Mihai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Matei having to interfere. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Minerul Baita -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Mandache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Minerul Baita -MM- played a much better game than Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- and deserved their victory. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
