After having played for 4 minutes, Nistor Vermeşan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Vermeşan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 8 minutes, Felix Mihăilescu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Felix Ghionescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Nistor Vermeşan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the game, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Aristide Fetea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felix Ghionescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Felix Ghionescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Golo Phoenix in the 24th minute of the match. When Aristide Fetea fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's protests and gave Aristide Fetea a yellow card for diving instead. Moise Ţurlău took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Medeleanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's zone, Golo Phoenix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Ghionescu came out of the goal and Golo Phoenix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Ghionescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nistor Vermeşan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Mihăilescu hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Vermeşan in the 41st minute of play forced GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Felix Ghionescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Aristide Fetea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felix Ghionescu. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aristide Fetea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Golo Phoenix made the kick off in the second half. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Felix Ghionescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Golo Phoenix in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Aristide Fetea. 62 minutes into the match, Aristide Fetea notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Felix Ghionescu. Felix Ghionescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca made a substitution. Marin Ciulei replaced Nistor Vermeşan. 69 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Felix Ghionescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aristide Fetea. With a little luck, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Felix Ghionescu got control of the ball when Marin Ciulei tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 97th minute, Felix Mihăilescu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Felix Ghionescu, passed just outside the right post.
