Olgierd Tusk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Kempka having to interfere. Waldemar Klimkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wlodzimierz Siwy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaw Nuszkowski kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 45 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Zbigniew Kalinowski.
