In the 3rd minute Vesa Markkanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asmund Ødegård saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Asmund Ødegård showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Kuokkanen in the 8th minute of the match. Tauno Kivimäki scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Asmund Ødegård, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Asmund Ødegård took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaarle Väätäinen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes of play, Savon Palloseura's Tauno Kivimäki made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Asmund Ødegård was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the match, Vikjorden's goal looked a bit too open when Kaarle Väätäinen came free, but Asmund Ødegård reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tauno Kivimäki in the 24th minute of play forced Vikjorden's goalkeeper Asmund Ødegård to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vikjorden's Asmund Ødegård played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vesa Markkanen in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Vikjorden's goal looked a bit too open when Vesa Markkanen came free, but Asmund Ødegård reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Vesa Markkanen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asmund Ødegård saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Kjetil Arnesen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Niilo Vähäsavo. The goal made the score 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Runar Røe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Savon Palloseura's Jan Kuokkanen got a free kick in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the match, Vikjorden's Kjetil Arnesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niilo Vähäsavo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tauno Kivimäki scored 1-5 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Asmund Ødegård, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Savon Palloseura's Juha-Pekka Joenväärä slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Asmund Ødegård. That made the score 1-6 after 62 minutes of play. 67 minutes into the game, Tauno Kivimäki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Asmund Ødegård. Tauno Kivimäki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. Asmund Ødegård took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tauno Kivimäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niilo Vähäsavo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjetil Arnesen in the 74th minute of the match. Asmund Ødegård showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Kuokkanen, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. With a little luck, Vikjorden's Asmund Ødegård got control of the ball when Jan Kuokkanen tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Vikjorden getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Runar Hagen hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Vesa Markkanen made a precise shot to the right of Asmund Ødegård. Vikjorden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-9. Vesa Markkanen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Asmund Ødegård skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Savon Palloseura's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
