Arian Vosswinkel charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arian Vosswinkel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 22 minutes into the match, Hilsea's goal looked a bit too open when Hartmut Achterberg came free, but Ronan King reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hartmut Achterberg scored 0-3 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronan King, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute Gerry Roebuck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peer Rocks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ashley Titmus made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Hilsea's Wade Batty nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Peer Rocks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Nils Biege took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronan King. Ronan King dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Ronan King showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hartmut Achterberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nils Biege got free with Ronan King in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute Wade Batty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peer Rocks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Hilsea's goalkeeper Ronan King had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laurent Felski. Ronan King made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Höfner in the 83rd minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, De Gulden Draak's goal looked a bit too open when Ashley Titmus came free, but Peer Rocks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Hilsea supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching De Gulden Draak's performance. The match ended with a win for De Gulden Draak.
