Spectators: 161 (Terracing: 121, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dave Ferrell got the match started through his kick off. Herwig Fehr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 8 minutes into the game, SV Bad Harzburg's Herwig Fehr nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Seaman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 11 minutes, Garry Kinsey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ampthill FC and the SV Bad Harzburg players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Ampthill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Kinsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herwig Fehr hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Pat Krupp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conal Knight-Percival in the 19th minute of the match. David Seaman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Tamm in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Ampthill FC's Roger Platt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Pat Krupp made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Roger Platt sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Pat Krupp successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 29th minute, Garry Aspinall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pat Krupp was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Pat Krupp was a little too slow when Garry Aspinall got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 3-1. Ampthill FC's David Seaman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Geers in the 36th minute of play. Roger Platt kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Pat Krupp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conal Knight-Percival in the 38th minute of play. David Tamm struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. David Seaman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Bad Harzburg. With a little luck, SV Bad Harzburg's Pat Krupp got control of the ball when Garry Aspinall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pat Krupp came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Ampthill FC's Dave Ferrell. But to his dismay, Dave Ferrell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Gunnar Lasotta hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mark Geers to make the kick off. Pat Krupp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garry Aspinall in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Conal Knight-Percival left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ampthill FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Tod Hay kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Pat Krupp didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dave Ferrell went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ampthill FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Roger Platt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Ferrell in the 66th minute of play forced SV Bad Harzburg's goalkeeper Pat Krupp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th match minute, SV Bad Harzburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Vielhaus to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conal Knight-Percival in the 69th minute of play forced SV Bad Harzburg's goalkeeper Pat Krupp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Seaman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frido Sandkühler in the 71st minute. When Garry Kinsey was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. In the 73rd match minute, Ampthill FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garry Kinsey to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the match, Ampthill FC's goalkeeper David Seaman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herwig Fehr. Pat Krupp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garry Aspinall, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Brendon Allanson's late challenge caught a SV Bad Harzburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brendon Allanson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ampthill FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Tod Hay hit a great ball. SV Bad Harzburg's Pat Krupp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Knight-Percival in the 86th minute of play. Ampthill FC's Roger Platt got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Frido Sandkühler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Conal Knight-Percival fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ampthill FC's protests and gave Conal Knight-Percival a yellow card for diving instead. After 97 played minutes Ampthill FC got a freekick which was hit by Conal Knight-Percival. There was no doubt that Ampthill FC were the better team. Ampthill FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
