Elmut Saidla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Ballack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 6 minutes, Endel Tihumets managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Dundee's supporters crossed their fingers, but Endel Tihumets was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to FC Dundee getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Endel Tihumets hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, FC Dundee's Martin Mustikas got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 14th minute, Tom Loss made a precise shot to the right of Lance Haßke. STARGARD FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Lance Haßke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Endel Tihumets went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of STARGARD FC booed when FC Dundee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heiki Aabloo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Sten Aruväli. After 28 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Markus Lausmäe. The FC Dundee fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when FC Dundee's Endel Tihumets looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sten Aruväli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Haßke having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Endel Tihumets's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lance Haßke was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Tom Loss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 47 played minutes FC Dundee got a freekick which was hit by Tanel Kurvits. Elmut Saidla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rüdiger Fischer in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Endel Tihumets was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Endel Tihumets in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lance Haßke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute Endel Tihumets shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lance Haßke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in STARGARD FC's zone, Endel Tihumets stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lance Haßke came out of the goal and Endel Tihumets tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Endel Tihumets ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lance Haßke was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. The supporters of FC Dundee booed when STARGARD FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ole Ruge didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the FC Dundee players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
