ATOWN's Lavrits Bjørnfalk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benji Kay in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Ollie Bright ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lavrits Bjørnfalk was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benji Kay in the 27th minute of play forced ATOWN's goalkeeper Lavrits Bjørnfalk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Kasey Gobey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eilif Hofsø to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Michael Neerdam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthew Edwards saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Michael Neerdam made a precise shot to the right of Matthew Edwards. Club Atlético de Newell's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. With an all-out effort, Club Atlético de Newell's Lavrits Bjørnfalk threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfred Barnfield, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 96 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's Benji Kay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lavrits Bjørnfalk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Club Atlético de Newell played a much better game than ATOWN and deserved their victory. The ATOWN players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
