Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Vic Burrows made the kick off which started today's match. Sydney FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Max Wills scored to the left of an out of position Florian Guderian, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when Leicester Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duncan Lawless didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Florian Guderian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Simon Slater showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kees Plappert, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a rather tough play, Leicester Lions's Duncan Lawless got a free kick in the 28th minute. Florian Guderian was a little too slow when Max Wills got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 32nd minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 36th match minute, Leicester Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duncan Lawless to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Florian Guderian got control of the ball when Vic Burrows tried to sneak it across the goal line. Florian Guderian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronan Walls in the 43rd minute of the match. Sydney FC made a substitution. Pierre Möhn replaced Kees Plappert. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 53 minutes, Nat Schmitt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Leicester Lions players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Florian Guderian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simon Slater showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Vic Burrows who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sydney FC's Florian Guderian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
