In the 41st minute, Noel Schaffert ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jannik Huth was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Stefan Winitzki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dariusz Wieberneit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carsten Schaub, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When Noel Schaffert fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academica Pulheim's protests and gave Noel Schaffert a yellow card for diving instead. Carsten Schaub took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dariusz Wieberneit. Dariusz Wieberneit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. With his leg Jannik Huth managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Academica Pulheim's Barnabas Rogge fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Academica Pulheim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
