Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Giannis Kadoglou took the kick off in the first half of the match. Chrisostomos Benakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Philippe Wartel in the 5th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Noël Saliou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Noël Saliou came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Green Madness fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noël Saliou couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in PAOK FC's zone, Noël Saliou stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chrisostomos Benakis came out of the goal and Noël Saliou tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute Johnny Berthod shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chrisostomos Benakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aris Skaboulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to PAOK FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Andreas Ioannou hit a great ball. Philippe Wartel struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Chrisostomos Benakis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Madness. 27 minutes into the game, Green Madness's Johnny Berthod nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chrisostomos Benakis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Johnny Berthod had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chrisostomos Benakis. PAOK FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johnny Berthod was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 36 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noël Saliou came free, but Chrisostomos Benakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Devillers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. PAOK FC's Chrisostomos Benakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noël Saliou in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Philippe Wartel to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Philippe Wartel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Green Madness and the PAOK FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 77th minute, PAOK FC's Argyris Kanelidis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Argyris Kanelidis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of PAOK FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Argyris Kanelidis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Argyris Kanelidis kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Gérald Andres managed to, on his own, get straight through PAOK FC's defense and in the 79th minute placed the ball to the left of Chrisostomos Benakis. 0-3. Chrisostomos Benakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnny Berthod, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chrisostomos Benakis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Philippe Wartel in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, PAOK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Berthod came free, but Chrisostomos Benakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Philippe Wartel succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 92nd playminute. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Philippe Wartel sped through PAOK FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chrisostomos Benakis.
