A collision led to SILMONT getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Brendan Cardot hit a great ball. Marlene Dietrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Traineau in the 19th minute of play. After some careless play in the SILMONT defense, Honoré Lottin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marlene Dietrich. The SILMONT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marlene Dietrich should have stopped the shot. Marlene Dietrich came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by R.C. Marseille's Ferdinand Cado. But to his dismay, Ferdinand Cado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. SILMONT's Brian Thauvin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Honoré Lottin, made in the 44th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Marlene Dietrich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinand Cado's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Auguste Lorre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Back's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 63rd minute, Ferdinand Cado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marlene Dietrich. The goal made the score 0-6. Marlene Dietrich stood somewhat misplaced when Ferdinand Cado came free in front of goal and shot 0-7 to the left of him in the 67 minute. Ferdinand Cado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marlene Dietrich having to interfere. Marlene Dietrich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Cado in the 76th minute of play. Charles-Henri Renaudin hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Marlene Dietrich made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Ferdinand Cado sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes into the match, SILMONT's goalkeeper Marlene Dietrich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinand Cado. 94 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's Ferdinand Cado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marlene Dietrich narrowly saved just below the crossbar. R.C. Marseille played a much better game than SILMONT and deserved their victory. The SILMONT players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
