Anthony Ruzzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 played minutes Supremacy Catania FC got a freekick which was hit by Florian Bergomi. In the 22nd minute, Edoardo Di Lorenzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Concetto Tiberio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Gazza in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 26 minutes, Eraldo Trotta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Supremacy Catania FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eraldo Trotta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Merceron United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Comunardo Placidi 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. When Supremacy Catania FC's Edmondo Gazza in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merceron United's goalie prevented a goal. Eraldo Trotta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Concetto Tiberio made a huge save. In the 37th minute Anthony Ruzzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Iezzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Iezzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Pizzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Miccoli during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Concetto Tiberio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eraldo Trotta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 44 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Supremacy Catania FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
