Skyfall's Emanuele Di Mario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Gauci in the 6th minute of play. Robert Pullicino took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emanuele Di Mario. Emanuele Di Mario dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alvise Renzi hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes of play, Sliema Dragons FC's Robert Pullicino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuele Di Mario was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Vince Gauci left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sliema Dragons FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The supporters of Skyfall booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur Facciol didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Vanni in the 20th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Kyle Axisa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Christian Scalpello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Christian Vanni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Fabian Borg put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Emanuele Di Mario. Fabian Borg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emanuele Di Mario. Skyfall's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Vince Gauci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christian Vanni to make the kick off. Vince Gauci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Emanuele Di Mario made a huge save. Ernesto Panno hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. A collision led to Skyfall getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Fausto Santacroce hit a great ball. With a little luck, Skyfall's Emanuele Di Mario got control of the ball when Vince Gauci tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Santacroce during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emanuele Di Mario acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Fabian Borg. Emanuele Di Mario was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fabian Borg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 68 minute of play. In the 75th minute Fabian Borg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Di Mario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuele Di Mario was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Sliema Dragons FC played a much better game than Skyfall and deserved their victory. The Skyfall players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
