Spectators: 174 (Terracing: 131, Seating: 40, VIP seats: 3) An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Gruppetta in the 9th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper John Balzan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Balzan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Gruppetta in the 14th minute of play. After 16 minutes, Godwin Spagnol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Seraċini Għawdxin and the Sliema Dragons FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when Seraċini Għawdxin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godwin Spagnol didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Galdes came free, but Dejan Cumbo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Mamo came free, but John Balzan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Jean Paul Caruana got a free kick in the 31st minute. Godwin Spagnol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Balzan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Mamo came free, but John Balzan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Bailey to strike the kick off in the second half. Seraċini Għawdxin's Edward Gruppetta got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Louis Mamo fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Seraċini Għawdxin's protests and gave Louis Mamo a yellow card for diving instead. Louis Mamo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Marc Xuereb's late challenge caught a Seraċini Għawdxin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marc Xuereb helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Marc Xuereb got a free kick in the 57th minute. Jean Paul Caruana's late challenge caught a Seraċini Għawdxin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louis Mamo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Sliema Dragons FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Dejan Cumbo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Bailey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Mamo got free with John Balzan in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frederick Gatt's late challenge caught a Seraċini Għawdxin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederick Gatt helped the player get up and apologised. Frederick Gatt hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Seraċini Għawdxin's Dejan Cumbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Galdes in the 92nd minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Samuel Galdes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Dejan Cumbo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sliema Dragons FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Seraċini Għawdxin had controlled the match.
