After a defensive mix-up in Gremio Viana's zone, Jesualdo Fiúza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvino Morais came out of the goal and Jesualdo Fiúza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Gremio Viana were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

51 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Jesualdo Fiúza came free, but Silvino Morais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moisés Lameirinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Leonardo Castanheira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Filipe Quinaz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 57 minute of play. Jesualdo Fiúza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvino Morais having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Alexandrino Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesualdo Fiúza in the 94th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Silvino Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gremio Viana walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
