Bizen Cabrera kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Erlantz Cienfuegos struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Agustín Ramis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Girona FC. During the 63rd minute of the match Ramón Campomanes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ramón Campomanes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 64th minute, Ramón Campomanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Girona FC's Leizarraga Campomanes was substituted for Sebastián Maroto. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Girona FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
