A collision led to UE Cornella getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Santos Olmos hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Downchester City defense, Alvito Font kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brion Nieto. The Downchester City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brion Nieto should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the match, Downchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Alvito Font came free, but Brion Nieto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melchor Manrique during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, UE Cornella's Melchor Manrique got a free kick in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Noé Palomares made the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Segundo Quiroga in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by UE Cornella's Sergi Pujol. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvito Font in the 53rd minute of play forced Downchester City's goalkeeper Brion Nieto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Olmos's late challenge caught a Downchester City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santos Olmos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th minute, Santos Olmos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brion Nieto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noé Palomares, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. If Carlo Domingo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvito Font kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. UE Cornella had won after a very even match.
