Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emil Oosterbaan started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Oosterbaan came free, but Nils Van De Wiele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VC zoetwater's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Edwin Huisingh scored to the left of an out of position Nils Van De Wiele, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Meijers in the 9th minute of play forced Springplank FC's goalkeeper Patrick Pronk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Marten Toeback almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Springplank FC's Patrick Pronk did a great save. 11 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Oosterbaan came free, but Nils Van De Wiele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Marc Van Linthaut fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC zoetwater's protests and gave Marc Van Linthaut a yellow card for diving instead. Marc Van Linthaut kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Emil Oosterbaan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Springplank FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emil Oosterbaan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nils Van De Wiele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kees de Visscher, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bart Merckx during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bart Merckx hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Emil Oosterbaan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nils Van De Wiele came out and tried to block the shot, but Emil Oosterbaan slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Springplank FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Meijers came free, but Patrick Pronk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Nils Van De Wiele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kees de Visscher. VC zoetwater's Nils Van De Wiele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Oosterbaan in the 35th minute of play. Nils Van De Wiele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin Huisingh in the 37th minute of the match. Nils Van De Wiele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Oosterbaan in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute Ricky Meijers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Pronk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Andreas Wollans ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Patrick Pronk was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricky Meijers to strike the kick off in the second half. Marc Van Linthaut got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 52 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Marc Van Linthaut. Nils Van De Wiele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Oosterbaan in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Martial De Vriendt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VC zoetwater's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Springplank FC the free kick. Martial De Vriendt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Kees de Visscher came free, but Nils Van De Wiele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils Van De Wiele came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Springplank FC's Kees de Visscher. But to his dismay, Kees de Visscher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Nils Van De Wiele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Oosterbaan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Ricky Meijers made a precise shot to the right of Patrick Pronk. Springplank FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The supporters of VC zoetwater booed when Springplank FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kees de Visscher didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Kees de Visscher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nils Van De Wiele. VC zoetwater's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kees de Visscher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. 77 minutes into the match, VC zoetwater's goal looked a bit too open when Kees de Visscher came free, but Nils Van De Wiele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricky Meijers kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. VC zoetwater's Martial De Vriendt got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Martial De Vriendt off the ground. After 85 played minutes VC zoetwater got a freekick which was hit by Martial De Vriendt. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind VC zoetwater's goalkeeper Nils Van De Wiele, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nils Van De Wiele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kees de Visscher in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, VC zoetwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Meijers to maneuver through the defense. Nils Van De Wiele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harm Korsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After a defensive mix-up in VC zoetwater's zone, Emil Oosterbaan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils Van De Wiele came out of the goal and Emil Oosterbaan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Springplank FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while VC zoetwater had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
