The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sylvain Pauwels scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yakim Kunchev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Constantijn van Eycken made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Kuzman Nedelkov sent off a good shot on target. Sylvain Pauwels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Yakim Kunchev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute of the match, Rafail Kúrparov tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Constantijn van Eycken saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Quillian de Wolf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Sylvain Pauwels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yakim Kunchev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Trayko Trendafilov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yakim Kunchev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quillian de Wolf, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Edmond Walder scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yakim Kunchev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute, Sylvain Pauwels left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Gullegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Stoil Yachev hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute, SK Gullegem's Quillian de Wolf ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Yakim Kunchev. Yakim Kunchev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quillian de Wolf in the 68th minute of play forced ЦСКА's goalkeeper Yakim Kunchev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th match minute, ЦСКА was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oleg Gyuzelev to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, ЦСКА's goal looked a bit too open when Sylvain Pauwels came free, but Yakim Kunchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Quillian de Wolf could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Yakim Kunchev however easily saved by the left post. Yakim Kunchev made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Quillian de Wolf sent off a good shot on target. In the 79th minute, Quillian de Wolf left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Gullegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quillian de Wolf got free with Yakim Kunchev in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Sylvain Pauwels took a quick shot and it went in 1-8 without a chance for Yakim Kunchev to make any attempt to save it. Edmond Walder hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes of play, SK Gullegem's Yanne Van Beneden made it 1-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yakim Kunchev was left in no man's land by his defense there! Yakim Kunchev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylvain Pauwels, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When Sylvain Pauwels came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the SK Gullegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sylvain Pauwels couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quillian de Wolf got free with Yakim Kunchev in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over SK Gullegem could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ЦСКА throughout the match.
