George Schnitzler's late challenge caught a SV Balverliefd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danny Edelmann got free with Ruud Windmuller in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Charles Lerat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruud Windmuller read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudy Rheingold during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jan Alferink didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes in the game, Danny Edelmann fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ruud Windmuller having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match, Karlheinz Schmit tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ruud Windmuller saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 43rd minute Danny Edelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Windmuller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, SV Balverliefd's Heiko Mulder seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Heiko Mulder the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SV Balverliefd protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Heiko Mulder had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The wind increased when Danny Edelmann made the kick off in the second half. SV Balverliefd's Ruud Windmuller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Edelmann in the 54th minute of play. Jos Deuring might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Terry Kieffer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jos Deuring ran back to his position shaking his head. Through an outstanding action, after 64 minutes, Terry Kieffer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Rudy Rheingold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, SV Balverliefd's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Lerat came free, but Ruud Windmuller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruud Windmuller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danny Edelmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of FC Lëtzebuerg booed when SV Balverliefd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carsten van Fessum didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charles Lerat struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ruud Windmuller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lëtzebuerg. Ruud Windmuller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudy Rheingold in the 78th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Danny Edelmann notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SV Balverliefd's Ruud Windmuller. Ruud Windmuller was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Jos Deuring had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Danny Edelmann scored 3-1 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruud Windmuller, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Lëtzebuerg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
