Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edwin Aukes started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Gabriele Batistuta made a precise shot to the right of Gaber Furlan. HIT Gorica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Pieter den Hartog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaber Furlan having to interfere. After having played for 19 minutes, Edwin Aukes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lemel SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edwin Aukes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by HIT Gorica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leon Reiling was slow to take the kick. During this time Lemel SV's players had a chance to rest. Leon Reiling made a great header on Lemel SV's corner, it was just that HIT Gorica's Gaber Furlan managed to reach the ball for a save. Gliša Bozjas short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Olivier Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Aukes in the 31st minute of play forced HIT Gorica's goalkeeper Gaber Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, HIT Gorica's Kristian Ćurčija got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Leon Reiling took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gaber Furlan. HIT Gorica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Aukes came free, but Gaber Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edwin Aukes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaber Furlan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute Lemel SV were awarded a corner. Leon Reiling went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Leon Reiling almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but HIT Gorica's Gaber Furlan did a great save. If Edwin Aukes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edwin Aukes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaber Furlan having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Edwin Aukes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ilmin Zetiček hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in HIT Gorica's zone, Leon Reiling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gaber Furlan came out of the goal and Leon Reiling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gliša Bozja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Kahn having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Gliša Bozja got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 85 minutes into the game, Gabriele Batistuta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gaber Furlan. Gabriele Batistuta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. 91 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goalkeeper Gaber Furlan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edwin Aukes. A collision led to HIT Gorica getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Željko Kapun hit a great ball.
