The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Asparuh Nechev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Niki Betov was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in VN SOKOLI-VARNA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! 16 minutes into the game, ПФК Миньор Раднево's Gruyo Boevski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Slavi Lichev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 19 played minutes VN SOKOLI-VARNA got a freekick which was hit by Ilko Zvúncharov. In the 21st match minute, ПФК Миньор Раднево was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lulcho Geshanov to maneuver through the defense. Trendafil Tilev charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trendafil Tilev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to VN SOKOLI-VARNA getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Trendafil Tilev hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, ПФК Миньор Раднево's goal looked a bit too open when Asparuh Nechev came free, but Niki Betov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boncho Kapitanov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Slavi Lichev having to make a save. After 42 played minutes VN SOKOLI-VARNA got a freekick which was hit by Trendafil Tilev. Asparuh Nechev struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Niki Betov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VN SOKOLI-VARNA. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Asparuh Nechev made a kick off. Niki Betov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gercho Nenchovski, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Gercho Nenchovski had several of the ПФК Миньор Раднево's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 55 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Niki Betov as he didn't even see the shot coming. Evstati Deshov kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Slavi Lichev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gruyo Boevski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 minutes, Asparuh Nechev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VN SOKOLI-VARNA and the ПФК Миньор Раднево players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 62 played minutes VN SOKOLI-VARNA got a freekick which was hit by Asparuh Nechev. Slavi Lichev came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by ПФК Миньор Раднево's Velislav Stanoychev. But to his dismay, Velislav Stanoychev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Velislav Stanoychev might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Slavi Lichev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Velislav Stanoychev ran back to his position shaking his head. Slavi Lichev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velislav Stanoychev in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of ПФК Миньор Раднево booed when VN SOKOLI-VARNA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilko Zvúncharov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Boncho Kapitanov in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Slavi Lichev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 76 played minutes VN SOKOLI-VARNA got a freekick which was hit by Asparuh Nechev. VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Ilko Zvúncharov got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th match minute, ПФК Миньор Раднево was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Preslav Anzov to maneuver through the defense.
