In the 3rd match minute, Circus BAF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanny Spoelbergh to maneuver through the defense. Pornsak Seearamrungruang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Jurgis Van Landschoot made a huge save. Circus BAF's Jurgis Van Landschoot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pornsak Seearamrungruang in the 6th minute of play. Fréderic Huerlimann lost his temper 7 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Circus BAF booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fréderic Huerlimann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieter Gärtner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steffe Van De Wijngaert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, Circus BAF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jouni Van Landschoot to maneuver through the defense. Ulric Donsante hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Steffe Van De Wijngaert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dieter Gärtner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Circus BAF booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guido Emennegger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tim Adriens kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. FC Lugano's Tito Waechter got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 minutes of play, FC Lugano's Ulric Donsante made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jurgis Van Landschoot was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Circus BAF booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidelio Haller didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieter Gärtner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovanny Spoelbergh in the 41st minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebbe Smits stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Sebbe Smits shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dieter Gärtner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jurgis Van Landschoot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Palmiro Brennwald in the 61st minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Circus BAF's goal looked a bit too open when Ulric Donsante came free, but Jurgis Van Landschoot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Ulric Donsante put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jurgis Van Landschoot. Steffe Van De Wijngaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dieter Gärtner having to interfere. In the 75th minute Circus BAF were awarded a corner. Matteo Van Halbeeck went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Matteo Van Halbeeck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Lugano's Dieter Gärtner did a great save. Sebbe Smits charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebbe Smits the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 83 played minutes Circus BAF got a freekick which was hit by Sebbe Smits. Jurgis Van Landschoot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matteo Gartenmann's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. If Palmiro Brennwald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jouni Van Landschoot kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The FC Lugano fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when FC Lugano's Matteo Gartenmann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
