Jelle Zijden hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Leendert Borg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley van Rhijn, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Christijan van Asseldonk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bart Verbruggen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Leendert Borg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jochem Oosterbaan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee ignored Albertus FC's protests and gave Jelle Zijden a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when Albertus FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jelle Zijden didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After 75 played minutes, Decathlon Dudes's Jochem Oosterbaan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leendert Borg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Decathlon Dudes reached it. Leendert Borg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Jeuring in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Albertus FC's Joeri Buys ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bart Verbruggen. Bart Verbruggen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2.
