The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Falcão da Silveira. In the 24th match minute, Heidemann FC - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robinho Lara to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Alberto Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Saraiva in the 34th minute of play forced Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Gualter Vinhas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Arce in the 41st minute of play. Válbson Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute, one of Marzagão:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marzagão. Marzagão made a substitution. Remo Borges replaced Válbson Fernandes. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Saraiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gualter Vinhas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Esteves in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Danilo Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heidemann FC - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. If Gilberto Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gualter Vinhas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 67 played minutes Heidemann FC - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Lara. Danilo Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Danilo Arce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Luís Fernandez was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. A collision led to Heidemann FC - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Falcão da Silveira hit a great ball.
