Cláudio Soares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 37 minutes into the match, Pratigipe EC's Natã Hames sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Vítor de Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlinhos Moreira charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlinhos Moreira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After the first half Clube Atlético Impávido were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlinhos Moreira made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Edvaldo Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Soares. Pratigipe EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edvaldo Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Edvaldo Magalhães really showed his touch with that goal: 1-7. José Vítor de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Natã Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 98th minute, Celso Dantas made a precise shot to the right of José Vítor de Sousa. Clube Atlético Impávido's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-7.
