The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Relyn Futebol Clube defense, Basílio Mazza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Vieira. The Relyn Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Vieira should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Munhoz in the 19th minute of play forced Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Geraldo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Arthur Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geraldo Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Relyn Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Clemente Leme scored to the left of an out of position Juan Vieira, making the score, 2-1. Clemente Leme took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Vieira. Juan Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The supporters of Relyn Futebol Clube booed when Xapetuba Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geraldo Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Augusto Capixaba in the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Xapetuba Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Pedro Tavares hit a great ball. The supporters of Xapetuba Futebol Clube booed when Relyn Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute, Léo Britto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan Vieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Duarte in the 48th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fausto Valladares made a kick off. In the 59th minute Geovânio da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Britto in the 66th minute of play. Geraldo Urbano made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Lucas Munhoz sent off a good shot on target. Arthur Munhoz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Geraldo Urbano made a huge save. In the 75th minute Geovânio da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Léo Britto fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xapetuba Futebol Clube's protests and gave Léo Britto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, Xapetuba Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Léo Britto to maneuver through the defense. Conrado da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fausto Valladares got free with Geraldo Urbano in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Relyn Futebol Clube's Juan Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léo Britto in the 83rd minute of play. Geraldo Urbano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Fausto Valladares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 played minutes Xapetuba Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio da Rocha. In the 93rd minute, Pedro Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geraldo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Munhoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Relyn Futebol Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Xapetuba Futebol Clube.
