When Osmar Luz came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the S O B E R A N O CIMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osmar Luz couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Vito Luz got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 6th minute, Adilson Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Gilson Arósio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Pombal 2003 F.C. from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalkeeper Gilson Arósio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Soberano. The crowd rose to their feet as S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Thiago Soberano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gilson Arósio. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Juvenal Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Gilson Arósio got control of the ball when Osmar Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 31 minutes, Cássio Severo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pombal 2003 F.C. and the S O B E R A N O CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 played minutes Pombal 2003 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Severo. When Vito Luz fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombal 2003 F.C.'s protests and gave Vito Luz a yellow card for diving instead. Vito Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thiago Soberano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Juvenal Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Osmar Luz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Gilson Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 55th minute, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Luís Moreno ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dagoberto Nogueira. Dagoberto Nogueira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Osmar Luz hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Betão Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Nogueira having to interfere. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by S O B E R A N O CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rodrigo Medeiros was slow to take the kick. During this time Pombal 2003 F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Rodrigo Medeiros to fire away a dangerous shot which Dagoberto Nogueira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Osmar Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilson Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osmar Luz went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The S O B E R A N O CIMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pombal 2003 F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
