After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Tiago Cruz got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Cipriano Oliveira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Clemente Varela. MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in MarquinhosEC's zone, Moisés Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Varela came out of the goal and Moisés Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 12 played minutes S.C.PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Amaral. In the 15th minute Moisés Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match Umberto Moura sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Celso Luz skillfully saved the ball. Celso Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa in the 22nd minute of play. Celso Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ulisses Carioca hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moisés Tepedino was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes MarquinhosEC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Loyola. In the 54th minute of the match João Francisco Neves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clemente Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 54th minute, Alfredo Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clemente Varela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fernando Prado went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Délio Furtado during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th minute, one of S.C.PAULISTA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for S.C.PAULISTA. Celso Luz had in the 60thth minute some difficulties stopping Alfredo Loyola's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When MarquinhosEC's Célio Matorin in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.C.PAULISTA's goalie prevented a goal. In the 67thth minute of the game Zé Carlos Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.C.PAULISTA's Celso Luz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MarquinhosEC's Clemente Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Prado in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Célio Matorin in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celso Luz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Celso Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Carlos Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, S.C.PAULISTA's goalkeeper Celso Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Célio Matorin. In the 84th minute, Moisés Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. S.C.PAULISTA's Celso Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save S.C.PAULISTA from getting a goal against them. The S.C.PAULISTA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celso Luz should have stopped the shot. S.C.PAULISTA succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though MarquinhosEC had controlled the match.
