Mané Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Célio Paes's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Marcos Aparecido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Toledo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Kléberson Batista's late challenge caught a In-Crivel EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kléberson Batista helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Kléberson Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mané Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Paes in the 35th minute of play. 41 minutes into the game, Claudinei Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. . After having played for 42 minutes, Célio Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In-Crivel EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Célio Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Roger Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the In-Crivel EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Amorim couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind . SC Manhattan .'s goalkeeper Mané Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
Mané Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Paes, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Nestor Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Toledo having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, . SC Manhattan .'s Severino de Azevedo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Mané Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Aparecido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guga Queiroz took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavinho Arantes. Flavinho Arantes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Maranhense in the 70th minute of play forced . SC Manhattan .'s goalkeeper Mané Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcos Aparecido heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 77th match minute, In-Crivel EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the game, Genílson Bueno threw the ball into play from the sideline. In-Crivel EC's Marcos Aparecido quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Marcos Aparecido came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the In-Crivel EC fans jumped to their feet.
