Régis Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, TaTeRo Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Vinhas came free, but Régis Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Vinhas might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Régis Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Vinhas ran back to his position shaking his head. Rubens Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. A collision led to Werneck FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Laerte Valladares hit a great ball. Régis Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Ceresso in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Zézinho Fantini got a free kick in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Fernando Vinhas notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of TaTeRo Boys's Régis Leão. Régis Leão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th minute, Caio Ceresso made a precise shot to the right of Régis Leão. TaTeRo Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The audience was convinced that Fernando Vinhas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Régis Leão was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. After the first half Werneck FC - DMZ were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zé Carlos Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. Ruy Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd match minute, TaTeRo Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Simões to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Mendonça in the 74th minute of play forced Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Régis Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Vinhas in the 76th minute. Werneck FC - DMZ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
