The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vito Ribeiro in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinei Paraense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 6th minute of the match Minuim SS got a corner. Passa o Tanque MZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lino de Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Minuim SS's corner Lino de Toledo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Claudinei Paraense quite easily take care of the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Passa o Tanque MZ's goalkeeper Claudinei Paraense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reynaldo Gaspar. The supporters of Minuim SS booed when Passa o Tanque MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedé Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claudinei Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. He walked away shaking his head. In the 27th minute Júlio Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Reynaldo Gaspar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Claudinei Paraense, 2-1. Passa o Tanque MZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Minuim SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Júlio Maciel to strike the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Gaspar hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Toninho Dias's late challenge caught a Minuim SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinei Paraense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2. Narciso Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Godoi in the 80th minute of play.
