Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco Matos in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bebeto de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Válbson Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Guto Paraense hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the match, Gilvan Pombal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilmar de Mendonça. Botafogo AP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilvan Pombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 40 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Pombal came free, but Gilmar de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The União Verde FC fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when União Verde FC's Laércio Damião looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guto Paraense hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Vladimir Motta was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 48th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laércio Damião was the one to do the kick off. Gilmar de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laércio Damião in the 55th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laércio Damião got free with Gilmar de Mendonça in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guto Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
