Bebeto de Salles came out of the goal and Aírton Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Bebeto de Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's Laércio Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Saldanha narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 86 played minutes Squadra Demarchi got a freekick which was hit by Sérgio Batista. When Vladimir Motta came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the União Verde FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Motta couldn't finish the play. Oscar Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Guia in the 93rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 95 minutes, Oscar Saldanha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. União Verde FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Squadra Demarchi to leave the ground with a draw.
