After having played for 7 minutes, Armando Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FÊNIX F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bebeto de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FÊNIX F.C. were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after União Verde FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Armando Saldanha took the corner. The corner led FÊNIX F.C.'s Armando Saldanha to fire away a dangerous shot which Bebeto de Salles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Adelino Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Laércio Damião left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Laércio Damião took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Maranhense. Artur Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gilvan Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd match minute, FÊNIX F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Adelino Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adelino Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adelino Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Artur Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademir Guia, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, FÊNIX F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Pombal came free, but Artur Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mário Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that União Verde FC were the better team. União Verde FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
