Dieguinho Alves charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dieguinho Alves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Dieguinho Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrianinho Ortiz in the 18th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Montesclarense E.C.'s Rodolfo Quirino threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baltazar Dantas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eusébio Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Monteiro having to interfere. In the 29thth minute of the game Adrianinho Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montesclarense E.C.'s Luiz Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rodolfo Quirino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar Dantas's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Luiz Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Eusébio Matorin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute of the match Dinei Moraes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Monteiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 43 minutes of play Montesclarense E.C.'s Dieguinho Alves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 44th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieguinho Alves to maneuver through the defense. When Dinei Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caatiba MZC's protests and gave Dinei Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. Dinei Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Adrianinho Ortiz made the kick off in the second half. Adrianinho Ortiz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Luiz Monteiro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, Montesclarense E.C.'s Luiz Monteiro got control of the ball when Benedito Domingues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Adrianinho Ortiz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Monteiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Adrianinho Ortizs short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Luiz Monteiro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luiz Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Luiz Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chiquinho de Lima hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Domingues in the 83rd minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Luiz Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Monteiro was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Adrianinho Ortiz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adrianinho Ortiz really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Montesclarense E.C.'s Luiz Monteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Montesclarense E.C. from getting a goal against them. Luiz Monteiro made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Benedito Domingues sent off a good shot on target. In the 95th minute Caco Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when Caatiba MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Caatiba MZC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Montesclarense E.C. from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
