An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltazar Dantas in the 3rd minute of play forced Flora's goalkeeper Luisinho Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Rossi in the 5th minute of the match. Luiz Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Rocha in the 7th minute of play. Luisinho Souza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baltazar Dantas went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 11 played minutes, Flora's Zé Rocha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luiz Monteiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Flora reached it. Caco Rossi struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Luisinho Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. Luisinho Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho de Lima in the 14th minute of play. Luisinho Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Arthur Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, Dráuzio Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montesclarense E.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flora the free kick. Luiz Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Rocha in the 22nd minute of the match. Luiz Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho de Lima to maneuver through the defense. Luisinho Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The audience was convinced that Caco Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luisinho Souza was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Flora's Luisinho Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Dantas in the 37th minute of play. Luisinho Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Veloso to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 59 minutes, Caco Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Caco Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caco Rossi hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Baltazar Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luisinho Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho de Lima in the 72nd minute of the match. Luisinho Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar Dantas's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. After 74 played minutes Flora got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Marques. After 76 played minutes Flora got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Simão.
