Virgílio da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Marinho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Medeiros in the 57th minute of play forced Grêmio Bulls's goalkeeper Virgílio da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Xavier in the 72nd minute of play forced Vascogoianiense FC's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josué Pena scored 0-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgílio da Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 81st minute, Jeremias Xavier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Augusto Peixoto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Vascogoianiense FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
