The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarbas Brito during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Brito. José Maria Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardinho Jacinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glauco Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense. Hermínio Araújo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardinho Jacinto having to make a save. After some careless play in the Goiás Esporte Clube defense, Hermínio Araújo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardinho Jacinto. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardinho Jacinto should have stopped the shot. In the 24th minute, Jarbas Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, César Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but César Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardinho Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sandrinho Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardinho Jacinto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of César Cardozo's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After the first half CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's César Cardozo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ made a substitution. A hard shot 73 in the game by César Cardozo from a close distance when the talented Bernardinho Jacinto managed to make a qualified save. Goiás Esporte Clube's players were relieved. Allan Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. César Cardozo in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bernardinho Jacinto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júnior Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. César Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Doriva Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro Ribeiro in the 87th minute of play. Natã Koehler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Nilmar Secco hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
