Gilberto Garcia started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, Tirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Gerber came free, but Enéas Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Leon Sport Club booed when Tirense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Tirense F.C. getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Alberto Abraão hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Franklin Severo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rafael Benítez, passed just outside the right post. Ronaldo Abreu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Enéas Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo da Cunha in the 34th minute of play. Tirense F.C.'s Enéas Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Gerber in the 38th minute of play. Enéas Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After 42 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Sanches. Tirense F.C.'s Alberto Abraão suffered a sprained foot after 44 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Abelardo Sanches's late challenge caught a Tirense F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Sanches helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Leon Sport Club getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Abelardo Sanches hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anderson Gerber in the 47th minute of play forced Tirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Enéas Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Teixeira made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Leon Sport Club's Adriano Teixeira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Tirense F.C.'s Vito Paiva got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Tirense F.C. getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Franklin Severo hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Leon Sport Club's Enéas Arruda threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ronaldo Abreu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Tirense F.C.'s Gilberto Garcia got a free kick in the 97th minute. Leon Sport Club played a much better game than Tirense F.C. and deserved their victory. The Tirense F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
