The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Reginaldo Borges fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's protests and gave Reginaldo Borges a yellow card for diving instead. Reginaldo Borges hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 5th match minute, Tirense F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vito Paiva to maneuver through the defense. When Emanuel da Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's protests and gave Emanuel da Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. Enéas Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute, César Cardozo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enéas Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enéas Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Alagoano in the 15th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Abraão during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alberto Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, César Cardozo made a precise shot to the right of Enéas Arruda. Tirense F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Tirense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when César Cardozo came free, but Enéas Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toninho Alagoano took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enéas Arruda. Enéas Arruda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 32 played minutes Tirense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Abraão. César Cardozo took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enéas Arruda. Enéas Arruda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If José Maria Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alberto Abraão was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Abel Matorin was substituted for Toninho Alagoano. In the 42nd match minute, Tirense F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Abraão to maneuver through the defense. If Abel Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Willian Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Reginaldo Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Tinoco in the 64th minute of play forced Tirense F.C.'s goalkeeper Enéas Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 played minutes Tirense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Vito Paiva. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ made a substitution. André Luís Mesquita replaced Emanuel da Rocha. Vito Paiva hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Enéas Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Matorin in the 71st minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Abel Matorin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enéas Arruda, 0-4. Tirense F.C.'s Enéas Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Borges in the 77th minute of play. Abel Matorin took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enéas Arruda. Enéas Arruda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After having played for 85 minutes, Eduardo Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 89 minutes into the game, one of Tirense F.C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Abel Matorin managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Matorin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enéas Arruda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tirense F.C. throughout the match.
