In the 34th minute of the match, Mazinho Silveira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jarbas Marques was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mazinho Silveira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Jarbas Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jarbas Marques yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. When Carlos Fernando Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Agrícola Barbarense's protests and gave Carlos Fernando Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to União Agrícola Barbarense getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Corrêa hit a great ball. Mazinho Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jarbas Marques made a huge save. Mazinho Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Marques having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Fernando Corrêa to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Serginho Brito left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Desportivo Coala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Desportivo Coala's Orlando Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Desportivo Coala from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlinhos Galvão during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Carlinhos Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 68thth minute of the game Mazinho Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Agrícola Barbarense's Jarbas Marques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serginho Brito in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. União Agrícola Barbarense's Jarbas Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Hoffmann in the 73rd minute of play. Ivo Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Jarbas Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ivo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarbas Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serginho Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. There was no doubt that Desportivo Coala were the better team. Desportivo Coala's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
