Dráusio Cruz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio Cruz. 6 minutes into the match, Santo Amaro AC's Juninho Valadares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Azevedo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juninho Valadares hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Chiquinho Chaves hit a great ball. Beto Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Chiquinho Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Sandro Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Bertassi in the 27th minute of play. Nuno Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Chiquinho Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 40 minutes into the game, Rubens Brasil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SRP-Laguna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santo Amaro AC the free kick. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's Chiquinho Chaves got a free kick in the 42nd minute.

Ramiro Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Nuno Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Chiquinho Chaves. Nuno Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabiano Gaspar in the 61st minute. After 64 played minutes Santo Amaro AC got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Macedo. After a rather tough play, SRP-Laguna's Anísio Sena got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute, Fabiano Gaspar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nuno Azevedo. The goal made the score 0-1. Nuno Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Fabiano Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. When Rubens Brasil came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the SRP-Laguna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubens Brasil couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Chaves in the 78th minute of play forced Santo Amaro AC's goalkeeper Eusébio Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Donato Arantes. A sloppy throw-in by Aníbal Macedo in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SRP-Laguna's Nilmar do Nascimento. 86 minutes into the game, Chiquinho Chaves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Eusébio Albuquerque was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Pedrão Arce hit a great ball.
