ALMA GUERREIRA's Vito Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save ALMA GUERREIRA from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Eusébio Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of ALMA GUERREIRA booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinícius Macedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusébio Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Vito Cearense made a huge save. After a rather tough play, ALMA GUERREIRA's Ulisses Vinhas got a free kick in the 28th minute. The supporters of ALMA GUERREIRA booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luizão Quirino was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cruzeiro Esporte Clube made a substitution. Renatinho Linhares replaced Chico de Brito. Vito Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vinícius Macedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Fernandão de Amaral hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Eusébio Magalhães scored 3-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vito Cearense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute, Eusébio Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vito Cearense was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 87th minute, Renatinho Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ALMA GUERREIRA's Vito Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Abreu in the 89th minute of play. Vito Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Magalhães in the 91st minute of play. Vito Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube had won after a very even match.
