Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gil Motta started the match with the kick off. Geovânio Santana came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Vasco FC's Tiago Gabriel Mesquita. But to his dismay, Tiago Gabriel Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 8th minute, Mundial EC's Gustavo Monteiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wellington Barbosa. Wellington Barbosa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Jonas Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasco FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovânio Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 19 minutes into the match, Mundial EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Veloso came free, but Geovânio Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Barbosa having to interfere. Adalberto de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Vasco FC's Adalberto de Souza got a free kick in the 27th minute. Jairo Tinoco's late challenge caught a Mundial EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Tinoco helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Vasco FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Jairo Tinoco hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto de Souza in the 33rd minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Geovânio Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wellington Barbosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vicente Falcão in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute Gil Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes Vasco FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Moreno. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustavo Monteiro was the one to do the kick off. Wellington Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredão Toledo's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Wellington Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Falcão in the 57th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Mundial EC's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Motta came free, but Geovânio Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jerônimo Severo fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco FC's protests and gave Jerônimo Severo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vasco FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jerônimo Severo hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Vasco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Monteiro came free, but Wellington Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Vasco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denílson Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. Durvalino Dracena charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Durvalino Dracena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vasco FC! The referee gave Mundial EC a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lauro Trigo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa. 2-2. Despite being the better team, Mundial EC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
