After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Murilo Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parfrente FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Murilo Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernani Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th match minute, Capivara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geraldo Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Hernani Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Vinhas in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo Alcântara in the 20th minute of play forced Capivara FC's goalkeeper Hernani Botelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murilo Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. When Murilo Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Parfrente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Murilo Alcântara couldn't finish the play. Hernani Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murilo Alcântara in the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murilo Alcântara got free with Hernani Botelho in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Edvaldo Leal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Haroldo Chaves was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Hernani Botelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murilo Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. After the first half Capivara FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murilo Alcântara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Claudinei Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinei Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Murilo Alcântara sped through Capivara FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hernani Botelho. 70 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Alcântara came free, but Hernani Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
