The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Olavo Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Mascote FC's protests and gave Olavo Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Vila Mascote FC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Bastos. In the 13th minute, Luisão Tasso made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Paulo Diniz. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC booed when Vila Mascote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edson Trevisan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edu Negri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Rafinha Godoi made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper Rafinha Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Ortiz. Breno Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Breno Silveira hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Vila Mascote FC's Rafinha Godoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Vila Mascote FC from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute, LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Roberto Ortiz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafinha Godoi. Rafinha Godoi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Luiz Eduardo Vergílio kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Cássio Araújo scored 1-3 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Paulo Diniz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcelo Freitas hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Luiz Paulo Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Tasso in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Vila Mascote FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisão Tasso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Luiz Paulo Diniz got control of the ball when Luisão Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Luisão Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Paulo Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Ceresso in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Ortiz in the 80th minute of play forced Vila Mascote FC's goalkeeper Rafinha Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Breno Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 84 minutes, Roberto Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cássio Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Roberto Ortiz got a free kick in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Rodriguinho Ceresso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luiz Paulo Diniz. Rodriguinho Ceresso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Vila Mascote FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
